Don't Fear Building Too Many Backlinks

The search engines themselves (primarily Google) have publicly stated (see Google's Webmaster Forum with Matt Cutts) that they will NOT penalize internet sites for the backlinks that point to their webpage due to the fact Google knows a webpage owner has no manage more than who and how another internet site links to them. Whereas Google may perhaps not give you credit for marginal or irrelevant backlinks, Google will not penalize you for those links.

Picture what the world wide web would be like if this wasn't the case. There would be mass subterfuge across the web as competitors built "bad" backlinks to their competitors' websites so those websites would be banned.

So go ahead and develop backlinks and don't worry about obtaining penalized. On the other hand, if you are going to put in the work you may well as well get the maximum benefit: develop one particular-way hyperlinks from related internet sites. And if you want those backlinks to support your site rise in search rankings, try to focus on DO Comply with hyperlinks simply because the search engines will absolutely ignore your NO Comply with links and they won't even exist in the eyes of the search engines.

One thing you need to keep in mind is reciprocal links. Although Google won't penalize you for backlinks to your web page, they will (and have) definitely penalize you for outgoing links on your web page. Why? Considering you fully manage your own content and Google will hold you accountable. So stay clear of reciprocal backlinks with sites that are not respected or related to your web site.

But above all, make back link-building a top rated priority. Then enhance the power of those back links to make them even alot more powerful at gaining your site to the top rated of search results.
